Kyle Brillante, Principal
Kyle Brillante holds a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Chinese from Trinity University, an M.A. from The University of Texas at Austin, and an Advanced Certificate in Teaching from Pace University, completed as a Teach for America member. He finished his Leaders in Education Apprenticeship Program (LEAP) residency in 2013. Kyle has a passion for science and the environment. For six years, he taught 7th and 8th grade science at I.S. 303 in the Morris Heights section of the South Bronx. In 8th grade science,he tripled the student pass rate on the state science exam. Kyle has held a variety of leadership roles, including New Teacher Mentor, Observational Coach, Science Lead Teacher, TeamFacilitator, Science Olympiad Coach, and National Junior Honor Society Advisor. As a leader, he has focused on making the high school admissions process easier and more successful, helping students gain admission to highly competitive high schools. Kyle believes fervently that, with the right support, every child will succeed.
Anna Waters, Assistant Principal
Anna Waters holds a B.A. in English and Comparative Religion from the honors program of the University of Washington, Seattle, and an M.S. in Teaching. She has taught English Language Arts for six years in the South Bronx and has substantial experience in curricular development and literacy instruction. As a Teach for America Corps member, Anna made a significant impact on literacy outcomes for her students. She has continued this work ever since, focusing particularly on creating rigorous and engaging writing curricula that strategically align to the Common Core Learning Standards. After holding multiple leadership positions in her school, Anna joined the prestigious LEAP program in 2012, where she and Kyle collaborated on a shared vision for The Highbridge Green School.
